Discovering Regions
The world of Corsair Cove consists of various regions and is shrouded in fog. Every region has its own questline and central story, following specific Pirate Principles. To discover a region and reveal it from the fog, your ship must enter the related discovery event. When you discover a region for the first time, you choose which Principle you want to support.
A region remains revealed as long as you have a ship in it. If there is no ship in a region for a while, the fog will return, and you will have to discover this region again. A rediscovered region will still follow the Pirate Principle choice you made the first time.
Embarking to Events
A fully constructed ship with a Crew and a Captain is required to embark on an event. When selecting an event, the related menu provides information about what is needed to succeed. When selecting a ship, events that are favourable for the related ship are highlighted.
Events that are not intended for a ship have a slightly grayed-out colour.
Travelling towards an event in the world takes time, which is displayed above the related ship. Focus on other tasks during long journeys. Once the ship arrives at its destination, a notification will be triggered.
Seven Seas Events
The Seven Seas offer many types of adventures, with different challenges and rewards. Completing any event will grant Cohesion, as pirates work together to overcome the challenge.
Some of the most important events are progression and ambition events, as these bring you closer to winning a session. Generic events, however, can give you various rewards that allow you to expand your economy and progress in other areas. It is up to you to decide how you want to proceed and which events will bring you further depending on the situation.
Event visuals provide information on whether this is a short or long event and how difficult the respective adventure will be. Short events, in most cases, require only one decision and offer a small reward in return. Long events pose a bigger challenge, but reward you with more resources or other types of rewards. Short events often do not pose a challenge, while long events require certain ship stats; without them, you will probably lose to your opponent.
Seven Seas
Close zoom-in lets you see details and offers the freedom to place structures from any view angle. Seven Sea region information is hidden when camera is zoomed in closely.
Medium zoom provides an overview of a Seven Sea region. A region is a location in the world that can consist of islands, island groups, and other elements. At this zoom level, region names, all events, and landmark names are present. The camera can be rotated at any zoom level, but it can only be tilted in close and medium zoom levels.
Maximum zoom-out allows you to see the whole world and get an idea of where to go for the next adventure. Only the most important information is present at this zoom level to provide direction. The camera can be rotated, but not tilted, in this view.
