Ship battle basics
Caribbean battles are card picks fueled by supply — your hull stats and dice roll scale how much damage you deal or prevent.
Supply cost
Most combat cards cost supply to play. Running dry limits your options next turn — balance heavy hits with cheaper setup cards. Ship battle actions lists the exact supply cost per card.
Dice + ship stats
Damage formulas combine your ship's combat stats (hull damage, crew damage, speed, armor, maneuverability) with your dice pool result and tier multiplier. A raider with high crew damage favors boarding cards; hunters favor ranged hull strikes.
Deal vs prevent
Many cards have two lines: deal damage to the enemy, and prevent or redirect damage coming to your hull or crew. Read both tooltips — the best pick depends on whether you are ahead on HP this turn.
Match the mission
Events with recommended ship roles and stat floors are tuned for that hull type. Use the ship matcher to filter missions by role before you sail under-gunned.
